Fred Stuart's career at Fender is a remarkable example of dedication to excellence in guitar craftsmanship. He joined the Fender Custom Shop at its inception in 1987, when it was just an ambitious operation in Michael Stevens' garage in Corona, California. As one of the original team members, Stuart quickly established himself as a pivotal figure in the Shop’s growth, ultimately rising to the role of Senior Master Builder. His hands have shaped iconic instruments, including the Telecaster Bajo Sexto, the 40th Anniversary Telecaster, and a meticulous replica of the original "Snake Head" Telecaster. Today, Stuart channels his passion through his own shop, where he custom-winds pickups, builds, restores, and relics guitars for a discerning clientele that includes legends like Jimmy Page and Billy Gibbons.
